The Best Roblox Horror Games for Friends, Solo Players and Younger Kids
The best Roblox horror games are Doors, The Mimic, Forsaken, Piggy and Pressure, and the gentlest picks for younger players are Flee the Facility, 3008 and 99 Nights in the Forest. Below are 12 long-running horror games for a Halloween night with friends or a solo scare, each checked against its official Roblox page, with what it is, why it's scary, who it suits and a quick note for parents.
The short answer
- Best overall: Doors. Clever monsters with clear rules, and the rooms change every run.
- Best to play with friends: Forsaken for a team against a Killer, Doors for co-op, and Specter for ghost hunting.
- Scariest: The Mimic, Apeirophobia and Pressure.
- Least scary for younger players: Flee the Facility, 3008 and 99 Nights in the Forest.
- Best first "real" horror game: Piggy.
How we picked these games
We only included horror games that have been around for at least a year, from Flee the Facility, which launched in 2017, to newer hits like Forsaken and 99 Nights in the Forest. Each premise below comes from the game's own Roblox description or its community wiki. We left out player counts and number-based rankings, because those change every week.

The 12 best Roblox horror games
1. Doors
Doors, from the LSPLASH group, starts you in a hotel where every room is separated by a numbered door. You find keys, search drawers for items and keep moving, while entities such as Rush, Ambush, Screech, Seek and Figure try to end your run. The rooms are randomly generated, so you can't memorise the way out, and later floors take the run to new places such as the Mines.
Why it's scary: Most entities give a warning first, like flickering lights before Rush or a "psst" from Screech in a dark room, and then you have a moment to react. The game's own description recommends going in without a guide and learning from each death, so your first runs are full of nasty surprises.
Best for: Solo or with friends. A group can split up to search rooms faster, and someone always screams first.
For younger players: Jumpscares are quick and the game isn't gory, though its description warns about loud sounds and flashing lights. Many kids who like a fright get used to it after a few runs. Our Doors entities guide explains how to survive each one, and the Doors quiz checks what you remember.
2. The Mimic
The Mimic, from CTStudio, is a story-driven horror game built on Japanese history and urban legends. It's split into Books, and in each Book you play as different characters through chapters of puzzles, hiding and chases.
Why it's scary: It stays slow and quiet for long stretches, then a chase starts with almost no warning. The monsters are drawn from folklore and look nothing like ordinary Roblox characters, and the game's own warning lists flashing lights, loud noises and jumpscares.
Best for: Solo if you want the full effect, or a group if you'd rather survive the chases. Some puzzles are easier with more eyes on them.
For younger players: This is one of the most intense games here, with a little non-realistic blood and plenty of jumpscares. Save it for older kids and teens who already love horror.
3. Forsaken
Forsaken is a survival horror game where one player is the Killer and everyone else is a Survivor. Survivors protect each other, complete objectives and try to stay alive until the timer hits zero, while the Killer tries to take out the whole team. Many of the characters come from Roblox history and community legends, including Noob, Shedletsky and Guest 1337 on the Survivor side and c00lkidd and John Doe among the Killers.
Why it's scary: You're hunted by a real person who learns your habits as the round goes on. Each Killer has different abilities, and hearing one get closer while you're stuck on an objective never stops being tense.
Best for: Friends. Survivors who stay together and use their abilities to help each other last far longer.
For younger players: It's more chase than jumpscare, but its description opens with a warning about flashing lights and loud audio and advises players with epilepsy not to play. Find your main with the Which Forsaken character are you? quiz, then try the Forsaken quiz.
4. Piggy
Piggy, created by MiniToon, started as a small test project that borrowed its gameplay and look from the indie horror game Granny, then grew into one of the best-known horror games on Roblox. In each chapter, survivors find items such as keys and tools, use them in the right places and escape before Piggy catches them. Piggy can be a bot or another player, and Traitor mode hides a betrayer among the survivors.
Why it's scary: Piggy shows up around corners at the worst possible moment, and whoever is carrying the item everyone needs becomes the main target.
Best for: Friends. Working out which door a key opens is half the fun, and Bot mode is good practice if you play alone.
For younger players: The cartoon look and a story told over many chapters make Piggy a common first horror game. Getting caught means a quick jumpscare, but there's little that's graphic.
5. Pressure
Pressure, from Urbanshade: Hadal Division, is set in an abandoned research facility deep under the sea. You play one of the "Expendables", sent room by room through the facility while dodging hazards and monsters. Its community wiki says it was heavily inspired by Doors, but the mood is darker and heavier.
Why it's scary: Sound does most of the work. Some monsters screech to warn you and force you into a locker, while others hide inside the lockers themselves, so no hiding spot ever feels safe. The developers recommend headphones.
Best for: Solo or a small group of friends.
For younger players: One of the most intense picks here, with more realistic blood and darker themes than most Roblox games. Better for teens.
6. Apeirophobia
Apeirophobia, from Polaroid Studios, is based on the internet legend of the Backrooms: endless empty rooms where you always feel watched. You explore and document each level, solve puzzles and hide from the entities that live there.
Why it's scary: Long stretches of quiet make the jumpscares hit harder, and getting lost is part of the design. The game warns about sudden jumpscares, flashing lights and loud noises.
Best for: Small groups. Puzzles go faster with friends, and the hallways feel less lonely.
For younger players: Genuinely unsettling and one of the more frightening games on this list. Keep it for older players.
7. Evade
Evade, from Hexagon Development Community, is a parkour survival game based on the Nextbot chase mode from Garry's Mod. Nextbots are flat, loud images that roam the map and chase anyone they spot. If one catches you, you go down, and a teammate can revive you.
Why it's scary: Nextbots are fast and very loud, and a red filter creeps over your screen as one gets closer. Rounds are pure panic, and the near-misses keep you coming back.
Best for: Friends. Reviving each other is the heart of the game, and the chaos is funnier with people you know.
For younger players: Expect loud noises, flashing lights and strange faces, but little in the way of story horror. Kids who like chase games often laugh more than they scream.
8. Dandy's World
Dandy's World, from BlushCrunch Studio, is a mascot horror game where you play as a cartoon Toon inside Gardenview Center. Your team completes machines on each floor to go deeper, while twisted versions of the Toons, called Twisteds, roam the halls and chase anyone they spot.
Why it's scary: A bright, happy world that has gone wrong is creepier than plain darkness. Machines keep you in one place, and missing a skill check alerts nearby Twisteds to where you are, so every task feels risky.
Best for: Friends. Each Toon has its own stats and abilities, and a mixed team covers more jobs.
For younger players: The colourful style makes it look gentler than it is, and the game warns about bright and flashing lights. It's a good next step for kids who have outgrown Piggy.
9. Flee the Facility
Flee the Facility, from A.W. Apps, has been around since 2017. In each round, up to four Survivors hack computers to open the exits, while one player, the Beast, hunts them with a hammer and drags anyone caught to a Freeze Pod. Teammates can free them before they freeze.
Why it's scary: You hear a heartbeat when the Beast is close, and missing a skill check while hacking sets off a loud sound and marks your computer for everyone to see, Beast included. It's hide and seek with higher stakes.
Best for: Friends. Rescuing a teammate at the last second is the best moment of any round.
For younger players: Very mild, with no gore and hardly any jumpscares, which makes it one of the best first scary games. Its description says it runs well on phones, tablets, PC, Xbox and PlayStation.
10. 99 Nights in the Forest
99 Nights in the Forest, from Grandma's Favourite Games, is a survival game about building a camp with friends and keeping the campfire going. You gather wood and food, explore for loot and search for four missing children. At night, a monster known as the Deer hunts anyone who strays from the campfire, and cultists are another threat.
Why it's scary: The game's description simply warns that something is watching you, and that's the feeling it keeps up. Weapons can't hurt the Deer, though a flashlight briefly stuns it, so nights are all about staying near the fire.
Best for: Friends. Teams work best when they split the jobs, with one person feeding the fire while the others explore and gather.
For younger players: More survival than horror, with only occasional scares. A good pick for kids who want something spooky without constant jumpscares. After a few nights, try the 99 Nights in the Forest quiz.
11. 3008
3008, by uglyburger0, is set inside an endless furniture store inspired by the SCP-3008 story. By day you collect food and furniture. At night the store's faceless employees turn hostile, and since they can't be killed, you need a fort to hide in.
Why it's scary: It's a slow creep. Night falls, the employees start hunting, and the fort of sofas and shelves you built suddenly looks very thin.
Best for: Friends. Building a base together is the best part.
For younger players: One of the mildest games here. It plays more like a survival building game with a spooky night than a full horror game.
12. Specter
Specter, by Lithium Labs, is a ghost-hunting game inspired by Phasmophobia. Your team visits a haunted location, uses equipment to find evidence, works out the ghost type and gets out before the ghost hunts you.
Why it's scary: A quiet investigation can turn into a hunt at any moment, and then you need a hiding spot and enough stamina to reach it. Not knowing when that switch will happen is what makes it tense.
Best for: Friends. Splitting up the equipment and the rooms is how good teams work.
For younger players: The creators warn about flashing lights, loud noises and scary scenes. Better for teens.
Also worth a look
- Survive the Killer! from Slyce Entertainment: survivors hide, save teammates and escape together while one player is the killer. A simpler take on the killer-versus-survivors idea behind Forsaken.
- The Rake REMASTERED from RVVZ: survive the night in a forest while the Rake stalks you, finding items and spending points in the shop. More violent than most games here, so it's one for older players.
Roblox horror games for kids: the least scary picks
If a younger player wants to join in at Halloween but scares easily, start at the top of this list and only move down when they're ready.
- Flee the Facility: a game of tag in a spooky setting. No gore, and the Beast is another player, not a monster.
- 3008: mostly building forts out of furniture, with a tense but slow night.
- 99 Nights in the Forest: calm crafting by day, and nights that are only scary if you leave the fire.
- Piggy: cartoon characters and quick jumpscares, plus a bot mode to practise on.
- Evade: loud and chaotic, but silly more than frightening.
- Dandy's World: cute on the surface, creepier the deeper you go.

Tips for a horror night with friends
- Wear headphones. Many of these games are built around sound, and the creators of Doors, The Mimic, Apeirophobia, Pressure and Specter all recommend them.
- Agree on jobs first. Decide who carries the keys in Doors or who guards the fire in 99 Nights before the scares start.
- Take breaks. Horror is more fun in short bursts, and it's fine to stop if someone isn't enjoying it.
- Keep your account to yourself. Nobody needs your password, a code Roblox sends you or anything copied from your browser to "carry" you through a level or give you free items. Our Roblox account safety guide covers what to watch for.
For parents: how to set the scare level
Every Roblox game shows a content maturity label on its page, along with descriptors such as Fear, Violence or Blood. According to the Roblox Help Center, Minimal games may have occasional mild fear, Mild games may have repeated mild fear, and Moderate games can include moderate fear and moderate violence. Restricted games are only for age-checked users 18 and older.
With Parental Controls, you can link your Roblox account to your child's account and choose which maturity level they can join. You can also block or allow specific games, which helps if your child is fine with Piggy but not ready for The Mimic.
A few more things worth knowing:
- Many horror games warn about flashing lights in their description, including Doors, Forsaken, The Mimic, Dandy's World and Apeirophobia. Take that seriously if your child is sensitive to light.
- How scary a game feels depends on the child. A game labelled Mild can still be too much for some kids, so watch how they react.
- Short sessions in a bright room, with friends or family nearby, make horror games much easier to enjoy.
