How to Earn Robux: Every Real Way, From Game Passes to DevEx

There are two ways to end up with Robux: buy them, or earn them. Earning them is real, it is how thousands of creators get paid every month, and it starts free. This guide covers every genuine way to earn Robux, from your first game pass to cashing out with DevEx.

1. Make a game and sell game passes

Every Roblox experience is built in Roblox Studio, which is free. Once your game is published, you can sell game passes: one-time purchases such as a VIP area, a speed boost or a special tool. Players buy them with Robux, and you receive 70% of the price while Roblox keeps 30%.

You don't need a huge hit to start. A small, fun game with a couple of well-priced passes can earn steadily. Our Robux calculator shows what price to set to receive a given amount after the 30% fee.

2. Sell developer products

Developer products are like game passes, except players can buy them again and again: an extra life, a pack of in-game coins, a revive. They suit games where players come back often. The same 70/30 split applies.

3. Earn Premium Payouts

Roblox pays creators extra based on how much time Roblox Premium members spend in their experiences. You don't sell anything for this: if Premium players enjoy your game, you earn Robux automatically. It rewards games people keep coming back to.

4. Design avatar items

Creators can design clothing and accessories and sell them on the Marketplace. Classic shirts and pants are the easiest place to start, and 3D accessories (UGC) are possible once you meet Roblox's requirements. Uploading and publishing items costs a fee, and some items need you to meet extra requirements, so read the current rules on Roblox's Creator Hub first.

5. Get paid by a group

Roblox groups can hold Robux from their games and items, and the group owner can pay members out of it. Many studios pay builders, scripters and designers this way. If you help on a group project, agree what you will receive before you start, and only accept payment through Roblox's own group payouts.

6. Take commissions

Skilled builders, modellers, scripters and artists are paid by other creators to make things for their games. Build a small portfolio, show it on Roblox's official developer forum and talent spaces, and keep every payment inside Roblox's own tools. Never hand over your account or work for "payment later" from strangers.

7. Reward sites that pay out

Some sites give points for doing something, such as answering questions, and pay out in Robux from their own budget. It is slow, because it is real. On Robux Quiz you earn coins for correct answers in Roblox quizzes, and 10 coins are worth 1 Robux. Link and verify your own Roblox account and you can request a payout from 100 Robux, and a person reviews each one. See how it works.

Turning earned Robux into money: DevEx

Creators who earn a lot of Robux can swap them for real money through the Developer Exchange (DevEx). Only Robux you earned count, not Robux you bought, and you need a minimum amount and to meet Roblox's eligibility rules. Our Robux calculator shows what DevEx pays for any amount.

Ways that don't earn Robux

  • Generators, hacks and "free Robux" apps. They are scams. Here is why Robux generators never work.
  • Giveaways that ask you to visit a link or "verify" your account.
  • Anyone who wants your password, a login code or something pasted into your browser.

A simple plan to start

  1. Open Roblox Studio and finish one small game, even a simple obby.
  2. Add one game pass that makes the game more fun, not one players need to win.
  3. Share it with friends and listen to what they enjoy.
  4. Improve it, then add a developer product if players keep coming back.
  5. Keep learning: every game you finish makes the next one better.
