"Free Robux codes" is one of the most searched phrases about Roblox, and one of the most dangerous. Here is what every kind of Roblox code really gives you, why lists of Robux codes are always fake, and how you can actually earn Robux.

Roblox promo codes give items, not Robux

Roblox runs official promo codes that you redeem on roblox.com/promocodes while logged in. They unlock free avatar items: hats, backpacks, shoulder pets and other accessories, often tied to an event or a partner. They have never given Robux. When a code expires, it simply stops working.

Game codes give in-game rewards

Many experiences have their own codes, typed into a box inside the game. Depending on the game they give boosts, in-game cash, pets, spins or cosmetics. They only work inside that game and they never add Robux to your account. Developers usually post them on their game page, social accounts or Discord server.

Gift card codes cost money

Roblox gift cards carry a code that adds Robux or credit to an account. Someone paid for every one of them in a shop or online store. "Free gift card codes" posted online are either already used, made up, or bait for a survey or a fake login page.

Why "free Robux code" sites are scams

  • The codes are invented. Robux can only be added by Roblox's own systems, and no public list of working Robux codes exists.
  • They ask you to "verify". The last step is always a survey, an app install or a login page. The site earns money from each one, and fake login pages steal accounts.
  • They copy real names. Scam pages use Roblox logos, fake comments and countdown timers to look official.
